Vladislav Chanev's picture

April morning in Bulgaria

These are two images of an area I've been planning to photograph for months, it still took a decent amount of footwork to find the compositions, but I'm happy how they turned out.

I noticed that, when I have at least an outlined idea, of what I want from the photographs before I head to location, more often than not, I create images that I'm really proud of . That's in comparisson with the cases when I just grab my gear and go wandering and try if to find any photographs. How many of you are able to create images you're happy with without planning beforehand? How does it work for you?

Hey Vladislav, great images. I'm finding the same more and more. Just going for a hike will often yield nothing. Or, perhaps just lots of running around when there is actually good light.

Some pre-scouting or having a certain idea in mind makes it more likely that I will get an image, and actually makes the experience of being out there more enjoyable, since I can focus on just enjoying nature when I'm on the way to my location.

Of course, sometimes I will see something wonderful during spontaneous exploration, and that is great as well. But, more often than not, that simply yields lots of mediocre images.

so beautiful pictures! Great work!

love these two photos - the colours and composition
