We were sitting on the deck, trying to capture the last light of the day, hand held in the strong breeze. As the seagulls started to disappear I tried to get the combination of the color with something to look at. The color only lasted for a few minutes then dark and another day was over.
This is a nice photo, but one thing really bugs me - the horizon is obviously not level. This is an easy correction. I like the lighting; I like the way that the sky colors are reflected in the water. I would crop it slightly differently, too. I've modified your photo to illustrate.
Thanks, I did not edit the photo, and I seem to have a problem with canting the camera. most of my shots seem to lean a little.
