Stanley Loong's picture

This shot was taken on the way to Cape Otway Lightstation, Australia. When approaching by road to the attraction, you can see acres of dead trees that appeared to have been poisoned, especially when those trees appeared to be habitats for the koalas.

Really dig it and nicely processed.

π’―π’½π’Άπ“ƒπ“€π“ˆ, ℛℴ𝒷ℯ𝓇𝓉!

I think the trees were most likely burnt in bush fires which swept this area a few years ago, Stanley. I frequently go down the Great Ocean Road, if not recently to Cape Otway, and there are a LOT od dead burnt trees - which can make beatiful, stark images like yours here. Obviously, the burnt trees are black if you look closely, so if that was not the case here it may be a different story. Increased salinity in soil, due to dry climate and irrigation with ground water is another common cause of dead trees here, but unlikely, I'd think, in the Cape, one of the wettest places in Australia.

I like what you've done here, the dark mood suiting the subject. Well done. Reminds me to process some of mine!

Hi Chris! Thanks for dropping this message. I missed the beauty of the Great Ocean Road, will revisit this place for shooting again in my next vacation one day. Have a great day!
