New edit

Hey guys, for those of you that checked out my first post I had this image, then felt a bit unhappy with it, I ended up walking away from it and came back to it a few days later, and edited the image to my liking (the darker image is the previous image). I did bring up a lot of the shadows, significantly decreased the orton effect, and added more emphasis to the sky and increased a few of the purples/pinks, and yellows. Any other editing tips that I could use would be appreciated.

This photo was taken on an overcast day, with a very deep yellow sunset in vancouver at whytecliff park, the area is known for producing some strong orange/yellow/red colours. I had been waiting for a strong red sunset, but with the weather this year I doubt I'll get that shot. But there is always next year.

The revision is a bit better, Jaspreet, but really they're both fine. I take similar trouble over subtle editing, but wouldn't seek general opinions about this level of subtlety, as it's your image and your vision. FWIW, the second is more convemtional to my eye, the first more moody - slightly brooding and atmospheric.

BTW, it would be instructive - and despite what I've said above, I find your posts and questions here very interesting and stimulating - if you simply kept adding to your original post, so we could see the evolution, and your thoughts.

I don't know about others, but I find the creative process itself puzzling and fascinating, so I'm always curious about why others do what they do. Especially if their work speaks to me, as yours does here.

Hey Chris, thank you once again for your feedback. I will try and continue with this post I just took a break from taking photos and editing images so I ended up walking away from them for a while. I have talked to a few other friends who have kind of given me their feedback on way they think so would be the finishing touches on this image so I'll make those small edits and repost once again.
