While the comet has been steadily fading, something of equal interest stepped in the other night to take it's place. Went out to one of my favorite lookouts to see what I could see, and immediately notice a glow on the horizon. Thinking it was too late for residual dusk light, and too early for dawn, I had a strong feeling I knew what it was. One long exposure later I was certain; the norther lights were back!
That's so cool!!
Very nice composition. The arc of the comet follows the arc of the tree and shore and the bright stars at the right balance it all out. Great job.
Just stunning! I tried every night here in near NYC - never saw it. I am so glad you posted that amazing photo.
