Heading south on Ruta 23 in Chile's Atacama Desert. It's springtime in the driest spot on earth and you're looking south. On the horizon are Vulcão Aracar and Cerro Aracar which are on the Argentine side of the border.

nice expansive shot. think the light needs to be more early morning or late evening and either make the shrine ? on the left a big part of the image or not at all - for me it leaves too many questions :)
Richard, thanks for taking a moment to provide your input. It's much appreciated. I agree on the lighting and this was an example of making as much lemonade from a pile of lemons as possible e.g. where I was, my <limited> options for transportation to this / other locations, etc. No excuses, simply fact.
As for the shrine, I had the same conundrum with it that you shared and decided to leave it in and see what, if any, response it elicited. You've well answered that question so back to post to crop it out.
Thanks again!
Light's a bitch...i hate it when you are just passing through and can't make the best of things and know that if you were there at a different time you would have a different pic ! it's still very nice tho
