Green Forest

When entered this amazing national park, the whole forest was already clothed in green.

Since you're posting here I presume you're interested in CC for this image, Stanley.

I think for once you've overdone the softening (Orton effect?) here. That golden patch in the middle about 2/3 of the way up, and the distant foliage at the top look unnatural. I find myself wanting to clean my glasses, except that I'm not wearing any!

Otherwise, a fine, well-conceived, well-composed, well-executed image for my tastes. That path into the forest is very inviting!

Thanks for the CC. I thought softening the background to get more attention to the path and foreground subjects, but it gives you looks unnatural feels.

It is challenging to shoot forest images with a jumble of leaves and trunks around. :)

It IS challenging, Stanley, enough that I rarely attempt it and have few successful images as a result - perhaps one in my portfolio.

I think your idea with the softening was a good one, but you just overdid it, so it's obvious rather than working subliminally, without the viewer being consciously aware of the processing per se.

That golden patch looks only 15-20m away, and there is no obvious mist - which itself is likely to be more heavy lower down. So the topography doesn't quite match the effect of the processing.
