Drifting into Autumn

It’s been a real hard couple of weeks (months) leading up to this years equinox. It definitely snuck up on me, but it’s a good thing and feels quite right.

There’s a lot of change happening and I feel a bit “along for the ride” right now. But just as these leaves drift down the river of life, I too must flow with it and embrace the path.

Here are two crops of the same image; would love to know your thoughts.

Like 'em both, Jordan! Like your sentiments, too. The contrast ot the leaves with the subtle reflections in the dark water is very appealing.

The first gives more of the sense of your text, with the leaf less dominant, and maybe others drifting along with it. The second is a little better as a composition in an absolute sense, and a fine image in its own right.

While I can't bring myself to do this personally, some would flip the images so the leaf is at the left, which would again improve the compositions in an absolute sense, as I think there is some truth to the idea that we "read" images from left to right.

Love the colors and tones.

I like the crop of the second more; the removal of the upper portion removes distractions for me. Just my opinion of course. Good stuff.

Agreed on the crop for the second pic. Really nice photo regardless!
