Stanley Loong's picture

Dazzling

When the sun had entirely emerged from the fog and mist were aglow with dazzling light which gives a strong contrast with the dark green of the surrounding forests.

love the play of light, the texture in the shadows.. I feel if the leaves pop out (increase highlights and decrease background exposure at the top), it would draw the viewer to the plant.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it out. Have a great day, mate!

Nice job, as ever, Stanley!

I'm inclined to agree with Sharath, as I think that admittedly very appealing glow at the top obscures the beautiful, swaying, almost dancing form of the shrub a little too much. I've taken the liberty of posting an edit, since you've posted the image for discussion.

However, this is totally subjective, and you may well totally disagree. I think your images are of a high standard, painterly and usually gentle in character. I wonder if here you've just taken your favourite Orton effect a little too far. Less is more, and all that!

Good try!

As in "nice try, but epic fail"? I'm curious about your opinion on this issue, Stanley. It's your image and your vision, and not my place to tell you what you should do. Just offering my own totally subjective reaction. I wouldn't do this on your portfolio, only here where discussion is invited. That includes your view on others' comments.

Confession: I've never agreed with a single CC of my posted images! I'm still interested what others think, so I don't bother rebutting, but discussion on FS has never led me to reconsider what I've done. Yet... ;-)

I find the dicussion here on the FS forum to be quite good, at least to hear different ideas on the processing of images. You're right, everyone's view of the image is very subjective. But I'm more interested in hearing different voices.

No worry, mate! :)
