It was rainy, dark, messy day, with flash flood warnings, here on Kauai. Suddenly everything glowed with orange light and the sunset exploded in the sky for just 5 minutes. I had exactly the wrong lens on the camera - a long telephoto - but I just grabbed it and ran to an open spot. The light was changing fast so I set it to auto mode and clicked away. And then it was gone just as suddenly as it appeared.
