This had to have been the hardest hike of my life, but man was it beautiful. Unfortunately there was no way to photograph this spot with golden hour/sunset/sunrise lighting without hiking 5 hours in the middle of the night so I had to use the lighting I had to my advantage.
This is 7 different exposures with different cloud patterns and lighting that I used to create some light painting with the front of clouds rolling in. What do you think?
looks like an awesome spot and an awesome hike. I can see where the beauty of the place cries out to be photographed. I like the cloud treatment. I would have liked to see the composition from a couple of feet to the left. The small dead tree on the left has a lake growing out of it. and the other one gets lost in the snow. I think that it would not have hurt your composition to leave them both out. Pretty picture go out and keep shooting
Hi thanks John, those are actually just branches of one small dead shrub that I used as a foreground subject, it’s only a few inches in front of the lens
