Every year, a fellow photographer friend, myself and my partner wake up extremely early on Black Friday to go photograph the sunrise at Carver’s Gap on Roan Mountain. Carvers Gap and the Roan Balds are where the AT meets North Carolina and Tennessee, its a year-round beautiful location and easy or difficult hike depending on how far you decide to go. Every Year I look forward to photographing this single tree. It creates a great subject and helps my overall composition. Does anyone else feel slightly strange/ unmotivated photographing the same things? I get a lot of unique shots every year but I’m always drawn back to the tree. Comments are welcome!
