Village under the rocky mountain

Here is one of my latest photos. This is a village which is close to my home. While i was driving for photography, i realized that there is light on the village. But when i was ready to shoot, the light was not pleasing. I enhanced the light by adding some brush strokes. The photo itself is also composed by 5 horizontal images (35mm apsc lens) to have vertical panorama. I tried to have powerfull image by adding some curves and luminosity masks, also aimed to show huge rocky mountain. I think that houses of village supports the sizing.
Let me know what my positives and negatives are.

Your caption tells the story here, Halil - you missed the light. As the saying goes, "If you've seen it, you've missed it". That is, so often light effects are fleeting, and often can only be caught by anticipation (and a good measure of luck).

To my eye, the village and forest at right look inexplicably bright, as it doesn't look as if they're lit by a patch of sunlight, while the top left of the peak looks unnaturally dark by contrast.

With the lighting you first saw, this composition could very likely make a good image. But as you say, "the light was not pleasing" at the time of capture, and we can only fake it so far! I'd keep going back if possible, especially in, say, showery weather when changing conditions might give you the light to make a good image with less post.

Thank you Chris for your great feedback. You are certainly right. I also aimed improving my editing skills. that’s why i tried to add light stokes and some colour punch on the highlighted area. I sometimes go this area. This is the first time i see it that much impressive. Of course i will regularly visit there for photography. I will review the psd file and reedit it.

I am thinking since said the light was not pleasing, just going with a different tone, and make it a more subdued or desaturated look as opposed to trying to warm up the sunlight in post. To my eye the right side feels like it could be cropped in a little tighter to get rid of some of the dead space, making the rock more of the focal point of the image instead of the light.

Thank you Mark! I will definetely review the photo and the psd file. It was great feedback for me. 🙏🏻
