The end of an afternoon of hiking at Wheeler Creek with my wife as most of America watches the Superbowl, a perfect opportunity to have nature to ourselves. We completed a beautiful hike on a balmy 45f day, more spring that winter, and begin our journey back down the mountain. But as we do, the unusual clouds and the point of view force me to stop and have my ever patient wife wait as I capture...the light of Utah.
Beautiful image Mark and well captured and presented...
I totally agree with your sentiment - I'd choose nature over sport any day of the week.
Regards,
Mike
Thanks Mike! Parking myself in front of the TV when there is beautiful wilderness to explore with my better half...unthinkable.
Very nice capture. It elicits a calming effect on me anyway. Out of curiosity, did you use focus stacking or the hyperfocal distance method?
Thanks Robert! Neither. I had my wife in the car ready to go so this is a single shot at F/10-F11 and that is it. I took more that one angle but time...time I didn't really have. Hell, lucky I even spotted this coming down the mountain. I shoot with a Fuji X-T4 and the lens I used was the Fuji 16-55mm, a recent addition. I'm starting to understand why it has such a fearsome reputation.
Great photo. You can always PVR the TV but not the outdoors
Exactly! Even more so to take the shot while you have the chance. I can't tell you on how many occasions I haven't taken a shot when pushed for time and regretted it later because later never happens. The light, the scenery, the mood or something else has changed...
Thanks Gerry!
That image is spectacular. A view like that and your better half next to you I guess you hit the jackpot. Cherish it forever! This image will linger in my mind for a long time.
Thank you for your kind words Sridhar and I will!
