I've been away from editing for a while (mostly since I haven't been able to take any trips). But I got around to editing another one of my photos from Glacier National Park. What do you think?
I tried to go for the greener "foresty" feel, like in some of Enrico Fossati's shots.
Edit: I've included a second edit as well that is a bit toned done in contrast and saturation. Which do you prefer?
Its a nice image. I find the background just a bit too bright for the image, but that's just my personal taste... image posted with the trees in the background toned down a bit and lifted shadows.
Otherwise its a nice composition and pleasing overall :)
Here is another edit with toned down highlights and de contrasted/ de saturated for a slightly different feel. Which do you prefer?
i tend to agree that it is too bright in the backgound. other than that it is a nice image

nice image overall, I tend to agree that the background is to bright
My vote would be image #2 - I think the more balanced lighting suits this image well.
Great job, Trevor! I'm not bothered by the bright background - I think it captures the feeling of being in the shady nook, out of the glorious sunshine. Excellent composition.
I prefer the second version. You could have gone in-between for the saturation in the water for my tastes, as it's nice to have a hint of the bluey-green - it adds to the sense of wetness for me, odd though that might sound.
I really like both, I must say. The distant sunlight really adds to the atmosphere. I just want to be there, hearing and smelling it all as well!
I prefer the lighting in the second one but frankly I am not a fan of moving water looking like cotton candy.
It's a very nice shot, and I prefer #2. You've main element is already surreal, so my personal preference is to not crowd the image with more effects - instead, just go with basic clean-up and working the histogram.
the second without a doubt. Just dodge the stream a little to "balance" the luminosity levels between the water and the trees in the background :)
I prefer the bluer water in the first and the more subdued bright green of the second. The water in the second looks brown.
