I posted a version of this image a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised how the foreground came out a lot darker than I expected , my screen and printer are calibrated and what I saw back on the site was the foreground had blocked up all of the dark tones .This version is lighter in the foreground but is not how the scene appeared at the time .thanks !
Tom, in case you don't know already, as the original poster you can edit the left side, including the text and images. Thus if you want to you can, for instance, subsequently post fresh edits, or the SOOC version if comments suggest this, along with the original post. That way viewers can scroll between them directly, which can be very instructive. Sometimes it is very interesting to see discussion provoke different "takes" on an image, and hopefully we're all here hoping to learn and develop.
This scene looks quite natural to me now, even if you know it looked different. I seem to recall an earlier version that was rather dark in the shadows.
BTW is this stitched or cropped to get the pano?.
much better!
The images were shot with an Olympus TG-4 in the stitch panorama mode but would of preferred the Raw files to be used with stitch overlap myself .But saying that, the wind rolls in through the valley and the trees on the left and right of the foreground were a bit soft because of the failing light and windy conditions .Thanks Chris Jablonski for the tips on post editing etc .
