I know the spot! I lived in Mandeville for 20+ years. I have a ton of sunsets shot on the North Shore. Some great sunsets there. And man, do I miss the food!!! :-)
David, you are right, there are some great sunsets along the lake front. I have several sunset shots of this gazebo and pier and none of them are the same.
I did most of my Sunrise/Sunset shots from the Mandeville Harbor all the way along the lakefront to the fishing pier near the Causeway. The Causeway makes for a perfect separation between the water and sky.
Lately i've been doing sunsets in fontainebleau state park.
I know where the fishing pier is that you're talking about, but haven't taken any photos there yet.
I'd like to get out there and to the madisonville lighthouse one day soon.
