Hi guys,
This shot resonates with how I'm feeling after going through the longest lockdowns in the world (for now).
This was taken last year between lockdowns.
We decided to take a gamble and drove in heavy rain for 3 hours from Melbourne with short visibility, hoping that there could be a break in the weather to capture the mist and soft light through this coast line.
Confidence of it happening were low as it was drizzling as we make our way on foot to this spot and just as we got there, heaven lit up for us for a brief 30 minutes before it turned again.
This was one of 500 shots taken as part of a timelapse that I am working to compile. It is going to take longer than I had envisaged but was glad that we captured this.
Hope you like it.
Great job, Danny! I so long to be back down the GOR, and your image just magnifies the ache! You must have left Melbourne at 3am or something.
I'm apologising upfront for the November lockdown that will inevitably happen, now that I've just booked some accommodation at Warrnambool, Apollo Bay and Lorne as soon as we can leave Melbourne... ;-)
I was just driving into Apollo Bay after a week at Lorne, halfway through a fortnight's break when I had to turn back home, fuming, for the start of the current lockdown, five lifetimes ago.
Keep up your good work, Danny. You have a very graceful, fluid style of your own, often reminding me how beautiful our part of the world can be.
Thanks so much Chris! Always been kind to my work.
I'm glad you planned ahead as I'm not quite sure what to do at the moment.
Greatly appreciated and don't wait too long to post your images up from that area!
