This image appeals to me for exactly those reasons, Martin. It's beautiful, and evocative, because the things you mention leave room for the viewer's imagination. Well done!
I suggest you could post this in the Minimalism, Abstract, Experimental Group. Judging by this image, you might feel at home there.

Really like the soft colors and patterns. This image almost creates the illusion of motion in the waves of the land. Comforting to view and overall a nice image.
