Storm at White Sands

I visited the White Sands National Park in February. We were there for 4 days. The first day we arrived in the late afternoon and just did a quick hike to check it out thinking we had 3 more days to explore. Unfortunately, the next 2 days brought high winds (50-60mph) to the entire region, so we were unable to visit the park. On the final day, it rained all morning and we were thinking it would be a bust. Things started clearing up in the early afternoon, so we took off on a hike. The light was spectacular and the distant storm front made for some amazing scenes. Here is one of my favorites from that trip. It was well worth the wait!

Amazing, Tom! It looks unreal - I mean literally unreal. I'd have sworn it's not a photo at all. I like the abstraction. You have an eye for bold abstraction which comes through in previous posts and your portfolio.

I suggest you post this in the Minimalism, Abstract, Experimental Group - it would be a perfect fit. Well done!

Thanks Chris. I was certainly fortunate to be there at this moment. I burned quite a few pixels trying to capture the scene. This one spoke to me the most. I'm glad you like it. I'll post it to the other group as well.

very nice, Tom
