Unhappy with my attempts to capture the vast fields of wildflowers in bloom this year, I decided to try a different route... Rather than trying to get the "Grand Landscape" perspective, I decided to try going macro. There are countless species of wildflowers in bloom, and I have been trying macro shots of those that I find of particular interest. The first of what I would consider "keepers" is this shot of a single Sego Lily from a patch of them I encountered while hiking in the foothills at an altitude of 7000 feet.
Love the way this is "floating" above the ground!
Thanks!
Really tried to isolate the bloom from all the clutter. Was a windy morning, so focus stacking was not an option and I had to sacrifice sharpness in favor of obliterating the background.
