Looking for some feedback on this. I’m on vacation in Bar Harbor Maine. Took this one the first night in town. Can’t decide if I’m done with it or want to tweak it some more. It was very cloudy and drizzly. Which was excellent actually! I edited it kind of hastily this morning. May have made it too contrasty but at the same time I kind of like it.
Took many images of that ship. I really like your use of the foreground and the ship.
Great shot, I don't find this shot too contrasty, and i'm not sure if there is anything I would do different.
With that said here are some things you can try, this shot is pretty amazing already so that may not work:
1. Select the sky, and increase the contrast just a little, increase the dehaze just a little, this may bring some of those clouds out, and add a little more drama to the shot
2. slightly increase the highlights in the area between the foreground and the ship. do it in increments so that is subtly gets a little brighter the closer you get tot he ship. This may help pull the viewers eyes from the rocks to the ship
3. Is this a cropped shot? Part of me wants to see whats on the other end of that gangway
Again i'm not sure if any of those will add to what is already a great shot, but may be worth trying.
Thanks! I may end up tweaking it a bit but I kind of like it as is as well. It's not cropped. On the other side of that walk way is just a pier to shore. I actually tried to clone stamp that walk way out but it got too hard so I just left it.
