Grampians Homage

I love staying at Aquila Eco Lodges in the southern Grampians here in Victoria in winter, looking out at the bush and the odd kangaroo or wallaby, relaxiing with a few art portfolios. The most mental exertion required is in keeping the slow-combustion heater going.

Australia has few majestic peaks - it's all weathered and mellowed. In eight years or so of going to tbe Grampians, I've never managed an image that captures the spirit of the place, until recently with this image, which does them some justice, to my eyes. Mount Abrupt is to the left of Mount Sturgeon.

Puts me in mind of a sun-burnt country.

That, it is. Thanks, Darin.

Love this scene and this part of Vic buddy. Love how the clouds lead to Mt Sturgeon

Thanks, Danny! Yes, Nature was kind to me that afternoon.

PS You often seem to hang out a bit further south, an area I love too!

I haven't pickup the camera for ages and whenever I do it's through friends who tries to drag me out to shoot.
I did shoot last weekend and it was awkward but took a postcard shot, posted here and in my FS portfolio.
I love Grampians and I'm hoping to head down that way soon with fam and maybe take a few shots.
Down south is just closer to home compare to Grampians and to shoot one scene for the day is probably a bit of an effort.
