Choosing your Fav - Continued

I do like the idea to use the discussion group (at least from time to time) to present different versions of the same scenario and ask for your Favourite! Most of the time I´m photographing wildlife. But on my regular tours through a nature reserve right in front of our house I do see quite a number of sometimes really spectacular sunrises and sunsets. When I´m trying to capture the mood of these scenarios I'm always in trouble how to select the right framing, how to postprocess the picture, ... . Therefore, I´d be interested to hear (see) your opinion concerning these series of pictures all made around 6 am when the sun just crossed the horizon. All proposals concerning the composition and postprocessing of these pictures are welcome!

Here my pov: the 1st frame is a bit unclear about what to show. Appearing just like a snap shot. A lot of thing there and it is unclear what you want to show.

The 2nd photo tells me abot a beautiful tree, backlit by the sun. So so..

The last frame pulls me into the warm and bright sun. Just warm and comfortable and welcome. The rays un the mist pull my eyes to the center.

So the last is my favorite. I hope U could take you with me about the why.

Ciao!

You are right! The intention of the first pic was to simply follow the rule that a landscape picture should have a foreground as well as than different levels of background. As a result the focus is missing. The second still shows the different colors in the sky and the surrounding of the tree, but again ... . The third one is the only pic where I had akind of an idea what I wanted to show: the magic of the first morning light. But I thought it's no longer a photo that shows the beauty of the landscape on that specific morning! Thanks for sharing your thoughts; they are helpful for my first experiments with another genre than wildlife!!!
