"Frozen Anteater" at Lake Michigan

It was about a week ago when I went to a beach at Lake Michigan. It had been very cold for quite a while and when I arrived before sunrise the temperature was -6F (-21F). Past storms had cause significant beach erosion and trees had been uprooted. The picture shows the ice covered roots of one of those trees. It reminded me of the anteaters I have seen in Brazil.

Really looks like an ancestor of a south-american ant eater frozen in permafrost - with one or two small ones next to it. What an opportunity for a great photo! By the way: it´s "-21 C(elsius)".
