Can you recommend a smartphone that takes photos that look both natural and beautiful? I'm tired of photos that look so fake. What do you think of the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max?
Hey everyone. Recently some Pep Ventosa work came across my social media and it inspired me to get out and try his in the round technique again. I've tried it before without a ton of success.
I posted recently about how using the Bluristic app angle mode could simulate the action used in the Pep Ventosa 'in the round' technique.
Can you recommend a smartphone that takes photos that look both natural and beautiful? I'm tired of photos that look so fake. What do you think of the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max?

Nicolò Thanks for more info I was curious as to multi frame verse cropped glad to hear you’re taking advantage of vertical format so much more detail. But now I just have to ask tripod or hand panned?
Hi Paul I used tripod, keep in mind I shot in BRK of 3 shots with -2/0/+2 of exposition, when 0 it's 1 second. Almost impossible do a panoramic shot handheld (for me 🤣)
Nicolò, if you don't mind I think you could improve the image overall sharpness and increase detail by stopping down your lens from 2.8 to at least f/8 if not smaller. You're on the right track but need to push your gear to it's limits. Ciao :) Keep up your good work!
I was at f/5.6 due lack of light in the cave.
I understand but Nicolò stopping down your aperture is going to increase depth of field,
which you then can compensate by slowing down your your shutter speed and/or these days adjusting your ISO to a high value making the sensor more sensitive to the existing light.
If I raise the shutter speed I lost the "silk effect" on the stream because waters run very very fast, it's impressive! For that I uses 1" of exposure in BRK -2/0/+2 stop. If I use higher shutter speed the river vas totally white. Is not only about of deep of field, there are other settings to keep in mind.
Yes your water is precious here I am just trying to help you with your whole or bigger picture. At 5.6 and a 9mm lens you should have plenty of depth. Did you do any other sequence of this pano?
Looking closer at your image the areas of tunnel that are lacking depth are the darker areas to both the left and right of the center which is the brightest. And wow I just notice the stalactites, cool. Let me guess you used autofocus? From what you’ve told me I presuming you have a few attempts of this pano with different shutter speed base exposures. You may process them never mind the water you’ve are ready got one where you happy with that. Process the others or at least look at the rock details and see if you have a sequence that’s better, you may even be able to mix and match different segment for rock detail and exposures just concerning the tunnel and than composite your water and tunnel keeping the best of each. Checkout my image Lower Falls Of The Yellowstone / Below The Brink. This was two images from a tripod I liked both images equally for different parts of the flowing water but could not decide on one to show. So I stacked them and blended the best parts of the waterfall for one image.
