When/Where:
This photo was captured during the afternoon/twilight show on Friday August 7, 2026 at the Abbotsford International Airshow. I was positioned in the Photo Pit.
A couple months ago I picked up a RF 100mm f/2.8 Macro L and I am putting it through it's paces to see what I can come up with.
When/Where:
This was captured at the Abbotsford International Airshow on the Saturday from the Photo Pit. The MBB Bo 105 was doing a loop as part of its airshow routine.
Sometimes a bit of luck is all you need.
When/Where:
On August 7, 2026 at the Abbotsford International Airshow during the Friday afternoon/evening Twilight Show.
I was recently back in the woods trying to take some wildlife photos. Sadly, I barely came across any birds that day and whenever I did, they were gone before I could even focus on them.

I like it. I'm assuming it's a composite of some sort?
I'm only saying this because you asked for feedback. I would lighten up the foreground just a touch. The sun looks like it has rings like Saturn. I think you could blend in the glow around the sides a little better. Assuming this is a composite I would put the sun closer to the horizon. Maybe behind or partly behind a windmill.
These are just some small adjustments I would make but I overall I like it.
Thank you for your feedback!
This is not a composite but taken with an 800mm, so the effect is purely optical (not even a crop). The sun really looked like that, rings and all :) .
I would have liked the sun a bit lower too, but then it got too cloudy so that didn´t happen :(
I will try a version with the foreground a touch lighter.
thanks again!
You know you can move the sun using photoshop? IDK if that's something you'd want to do but that's what I meant. I have a few photos with the sun like this from my 600mm and it can be fun to take that sun and put it in different photos. I realize this isn't something everyone would want to do though.
hmm I'm assuming that's one of the new AI features of photoshop? Since I use Linux I don't have the luxury of PS .. I use GIMP.
Since the effect can be created entirely in camera, I prefer to do it that way anyway .. the process of making the picture was fun, I´d love to do it again when I have the chance!
edit: hoping the sun won´t be covered in clouds like it was this time ..
No it has nothing to do with AI. You literally just take a lasso tool, select the sun, and move it. Just something you can do when mother nature doesn't cooperate.
