It Wasn't Really This Dark

I shot these in Central Perkiomen Park about one hundred yards behind my house. There has not been any rain for a while, so these are very dry wetlands.

These are five-exposure HDR images, handheld, with three-stop steps. I suppose that means a fifteen-stop range from top to bottom. The processed result was created in Photoshop with the assistance of Luminar Neo as a plug-in, and I chose to make it substantially darker and contrasty than the metered exposure would have provided. The fox in the second image was inserted with Generative Fill in Photoshop.

This image was done in late 1980s on Polaroid's instant slide film Polapan - a prefect film for beauty and boudoir photography as skin tones were rendered silky.
