Frustration thy name be photography.

Here in the UK the weather has been horrible this weekend but today its mostly just the wind, not much rain. I had a shot in mind for this sort of conditions so this morning I was at the location a full hour before the blue hour started with the idea of taking multiple exposures over the next few hours and blending together later. The winds were gusting to gale force and it was generally horrible, but I stuck it out and was getting the images I needed for the final composition.

I was waiting patiently for the light etc to be just right to get the final exposure that would tie all the others together when a bloody Hummer with a trailer attached parked sideways in front of me. It was a long, straight road - practically empty with a good half mile on either side of empty parking spaces - but they stayed there just long enough for the moment to pass so I missed it.
3 hours standing in the wind and rain and a 4am wake up for nothing. Grrrrrrr!!!!!

I feel you! Sometimes we actually do have to suffer for our work. Often, Art ain't easy.

I was a right grumpy arse when I got home but fired up the weather reports for tomorrow and Photographers Ephemeris to plan the next shoot. Got to just keep on keeping on ;)

I brought my astro gear to Katmai National Park, with the hope of getting some good night shots, since there is zero light pollution. A commercial flight and float plane flight in each diection. Cloud cover every night. You'll be ok.

The castle in Edinburgh fires it's canons once a day and there's always photographers waiting to shoot it, there's also usually a bunch of students waiting to jump in front of the photographers at the right time to ruin their shot.

Been there, done that. More than once I'd wished I had a high powered rifle to clear the background.

Have Fun,
Jeff
