Hannah - comments and tips welcome :)

Hiya,

First time posting in here. Happy to get some comments and criticism so I can learn to improve my portrait knowledge.
...Also, let me throw it into the mix, this was taken with an unconventional 35mm focal length (Sigma Art is a beaut!)

Thanks for you time! :D

First thing that stands out is that this was taken with a wide angle lens. Thanks to the distorted perspective, her lens is as big as her face. If you're going wide, step back, otherwise you'll exaggerate elements closer to your lens. Also, the white above her head is distracting. Looks like you could have moved left or right, and maybe kept the background cleaner.

Thanks for the CC, noted and much appreciated!

I actually like the distortions in this image, it makes the camera more prominent as I guess it was intended in this shot to show her off as a photographer and still keep her face in tack sharp focus as she is the central subject. However, I agree that the white above her head is distracting and another angle would have been preferred. Also the camera straps are a bit annoying, just like they are in real life ;))
