Feedback/critique for my first ever professional shoot

new here :) this community looks amazing!

Looking for feedback/critique on all fronts (composition, post-processing etc). New to portrait photography, and this is my first time retouching as well. All natural lighting.

Thank you in advance! Hopefully the image compression settings on this site aren't too bad.

On the top one, you have lighting that's not flattering, and her hair blends into the background. Would it have been possible to move to your left or right, to get a nicer lighting effect, and place her light hair in front of the darker part of the background? Same with the 2nd one.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the lighting in first image got to me too. I tried darkening the colours around her hair but removed it, as it just wasn't working the way I wanted it to.

Unfortunately there's no other shot amongst them that holds the same impact that also has a darker background behind her hair. Important things for me to remember next time I do a similar shoot.

Is that the main reason why the lighting isn't "flattering", or are the other things I'm not seeing?

Also, the one you mentioned as 2nd is actually 3rd! One of the links wasn't working. I've just edited the post to reflect that.

Most women are not flattered by lighting that shows creases in their face like that.
