This is my recent work which I guess you night have seen many similar photos and ideas like this
But the thing is each person either a photographer or a painter would capture/showcase a moment differently (specially when it comes to portraits).

I thought its better to share my version with you and ask you what do you think, what is missing ? or what do you think would make it better and add to the mood ?
Also if you have any comment about the retouch or lighting, i would love to hear it.

Great image the only thing I would have done differently is maybe even out the different skin tones a little so the transitions are a more subtle

thanks garden, maybe that works too, i just felt with more contrasty retouch i might match it with the overall look of the image which the contrast between face and all other elements of image is too much, but I'm sure i did it too much on forehead unfortunately.

I love the angle of the shot, the expression of the model. Perhaps the skin is oversoftened a little....
I like the slight separation of the model from the background.

thank you steve, about the skin maybe you are right, because there were not enough details in the original image due to the fact that it was not shot in studio with controlled light, actually i used external flash bounced off the ceiling and in post processing i did a trick to replace the harsh highlights in the eyes with octabox shape reflections.
