I've recently started developing a different style of portraiture , looking for locale and background so as to make a good frame. I guess some may find the yellow bag distracting , but to me its something that offsets the beautiful cyan door. I hope you can understand my vision. I would love some feedback.

Looks pretty good to me. I'm trying to add portraiture to my skills and I still can't nail focus of the eyes correctly. I'd be delighted if a yellow bag was my only problem. If you know your way around photoshop you could blur the background out just slightly to maintain your vision but go blurry nuts on the bag and still keep the yellow.
I would have her hold the bag, it will give the bag justification for being in the frame and make its inclusion in the photograph seem very intentional.
