Hi all, this is my first post here, though I have been reading articles on this site for a while. I started photography about 2 years ago and just recently (since about August) I have been getting more and more into portrait photography. This is my latest attempt from a few weeks ago. Just curious what you all think of it and what suggestions you would make.
I look forward to your thoughts/opinions.

Well, where do I start with everything wrong with this picture, you clearly are just starting out. Ok, that was my lame attempt at humor. I like the B&W a lot. The hair light looks awesome, and I feel a story in this picture. Of course in my head she is being used as a decoy in an international spy-ring bust. If you like to retouch I might have tried to even out the skin below the corner of her lips. Looks good, cool capture, thanks for sharing.
You had me worried there with the first part. As for the story, someone else I showed it to imagined she saw someone who was about to fall off a bridge, so it's clearly up for interpretation. Though, I was just going for a sort of older feeling, sort of old school Hollywood look, which is something I am still working at. I actually just started a couple weeks ago working on more post processing/retouching, it's an area I still need to improve a lot on, but now that I have spent more time with it I can see how it can be used to really enhance or help create the vision/idea I had for the photo.
Thank you for your reply.
I can see that. I did an attempt at some 40's glamour type look last year. You can see it here: https://fstoppers.com/photo/109331
Just keep going and improving, you will learn much from your errors. I sure havend I still have ways to go.
