A couple months ago a friend and I, did a small portrait test shoot in the studio. At first glance, I didn't like many of the photos. When work slowed down I took another look through the shoot and found this shot. Just wondered what people thought of this shot and if anyone had any ideas of anything that could be improved. Basic edits were done in Lightroom, with some dodging and burning and blemish removal done in photoshop.
I believe my main modifier was a 22in beauty dish, and one other light on the background. Tried several looks during this shoot with several modifiers and different numbers of strobes.
Really nice - I love how the low key helps create a pensive mood and draws focus to the face. This really works.
