Yoyo guys, I just did a CRAZY shoot with the most talented MUA and a model who is exotic in my country (Croatia). Give me your feedback on the photos, I started doing beauty recently and my retouching is still not top notch. I'm trying to improve and in the process I need feedback. HONESTY IS REQUIRED !
I think you've got some solid shots here! The lighting and skin textures are great! The only two shots that feel like they need help are the two in the middle, the ones with the really dark background. With darker hair and darker skin, you model is almost lost to the eye with the dark backdrops (unless that was deliberate), I think your shots with the lighter backdrop work so much better. 👌
It is interesting to see how those pictures all have their unique little problems, i'll just work my way through them starting from the top.
#1 has a vivid, striking feel to it, however, the shadow drowns out the hair and the clothing. Also, the vignette has a slightly dirty appeal to me.
#2 solid
#3 great, homogenous shot, if it wasn't for the distracting brightly lit hand.
#4 great makeup job, moody lighting, feels good. Could have used a slight yellow kicker to complement the golden shimmer in her makeup.
#5 would have liked to see more clarity in the hair.
#6 overall mushy appearance, probably because of the combination of low detail in the hair with a rather bright background.

Thanks a lot, the problems you mentioned never even occured to me because I was all worried about the skin texture and if it looks plasticky or not. That is a sharp pair of eyes you've got haha
