Hi Lela, it is a terrific picture of the young girl. I don't consider myself a portraiture photographer, but as a parent, I have hundreds of my daughters photographs and I am still editing them.
The central interest here is the young girl playing / looking / exploring the plant leaves.
Had I taken this image, I would crop down from the top to where the blurred light green leaves is just above the head. Crop from the bottom right over your logo, and from there you can visualise your next move.
I always keep a copy of the original, just in case I want to have a second look at it. Odd are there will be other advice from well establish portrait photographers, so no rushing.

ohhhhh the second one, in black and white..... wow!! Gorgeous! Keep doing what you're doing. The one tip I will offer: try to take a picture ABOUT your subject, especially with children -- don't just center the picture on your subject each time. But I am sure you know that. Happy shooting! ;)
