Beginner needs advices

Hi there! I'm looking for help to build my portfolio. I'm a very beginner at street photography and quite confuse about my pictures... they're hosted on 500px here: https://500px.com/overlaptheworld

You'll find there all the pictures I took last month with my new Fuji X-T1 in the streets of Bordeaux/France. I need advices...

Thank you so much if you can help! :)

I like your stuff, you're not afraid to get up close, and your shots are captured and edited well. Keep shooting is my advice :)

Thank you Jordan! That's not helping so much but it's good to hear! :)

Really nice work! The three people on the wall (palais de justice), the lumbering guy (contre-courant), the black man in front of the mural (tack), and the metro car (the one you also posted above) are all wonderful.

Contre-courant is truly terrific! Here you've got this moment in time where this massive guy is walking down the street. Everyone's cold and bundled up, might even be raining out, yet he's in shorts and a tank top. His neck and leg forward like he's really moving too. Then the brief case! Why is he carrying the brief case!? The whole thing tells a story and makes me laugh.

Others don't do much for me. They feel more snapshot like as far as when I ask myself, "Why?" What is special about this moment in time? What is the story?

Thanks a lot Ryan!
