This is a very nice shot but what exactly is your goal? Who are you marketing this image to? Who would buy this? Once you answer that I can give it a more fair critique.
Thanks Lee! My intention was to capture the atmosphere of SF like in a travel register, or maybe a magazine shot. The cable car is cliché in San Francisco... Do you think there is a better way to catch the soul and the mood of the city?
For a travel magazine or blog to show a location or a vibe this is great. If you were trying to make this a commercial shot that could be on an ad for the city it falls short.
Yeah, I think it's a nice shot of a cable car at night (good lights and shadows) but I cant see any story past that so I keep being draw into the large woman on the bill board riding a giraffe as it's the only story in the image - but its not your story...
Perfect Robert. I'm working hard to take photos (or enrich them) with some history and soul. Do you (or Lee) knows about any article, maybe in Fstoppers, that helps?
Too many subjects in this image. Not sure what is being communicated. I don't think it says San Francisco at all. Refine your subject.
