Backpacking Through USA and Europe

Hey all,

So I am planing a trip(well some of the tickets already purchased) from Bolivia(where I currently live) to Florida then in a rental car up to NYC then back to Florida. Once back in Florida I will be taking a transatlantic cruise to a few countries in Europe with my final destination in Rome. From Rome I will be going via train to a few cites in Italy, France and Spain.

My idea is to use just one backpack for my gear and and clothes(a week's worth). I am looking for suggestions for backpacks that are not too huge but would fit my clothes and following gear:

Canon 6D body
Canon 24-105mm F4
Canon 50mm F1.8
Rokinon 14mm 2.8

I might get a Maverick Pro and a 70-200 depending on my budget.

Hi, I've got a similar setup and I usually do this kind of travelling with a standard hiking backpack (Austrian army, 50 liters) and put my camera bag (lowe-pro messenger 180AW) inside on top of all the other stuff. Works great for me - instant access to all my gear and excellent protection when I'm on the move, but I can also carry my gear separately from the backpack when checking the backpack at the airport or when I'm exploring a city with my backpack at the hostel.

I've been thinking about getting the f-stop tilopa and a medium ICU, however this is quite an investment equivalent to a city trip therefore, I'll stay with my original setup for now. ;)

I spent some time in Bolivia and traveling the world out of a backpack for a year. Best life experience I've ever had. Best of luck! I used a cheap 75L bag off of ebay and a manfrotto. It's difficult but worth it.
