When using a certain type of camera to shoot a film, it's only going to change the picture. Whether it's an ARRI or an iPhone, the only difference would be the picture.
When I'm shooting films I mostly concentrate on the story which is told through many means, but mainly composition and cutting. The next thing is the audio. The last thing is the visuals (at least for me).
In order for someone to understand your story, they have to be aware of the so called "geography" of the shot. When shooting wide shots (full length) and then cutting into close-ups from a different angle it feels like a different room, because we, as viewers, are not aware of the interior (or the exterior). My advice would be to be aware of that when shooting and cutting. You better cut between two wide shots that show similarities between each other or move the camera, so viewers can see where they are at.
Making a film is difficult. I'm very aware of that. My advice is to focus on the directing part of the film instead of the visuals.
