My daughters first wedding, at 9yrs old.

Hi folks, just new here but I thought I'd say 'Hello' and start with a shot taken by my 9yr old daughter, who recently shot her first wedding alongside me. Now, before anyone starts jumping down my throat about letting someone so young shoot at a wedding (especially as it's my full-time job and may be seen as being a wee bit unprofessional by some), the bride & groom are close family friends (I've known the girl all her life) and they specifically asked her to come along when they booked me as they have seen lots of her work from other shoots and wanted theirs to be her first wedding. I wouldn't normally have agreed, but our family were going along anyway so why not let her get a few shots to keep the bride & groom happy? She used one of my X-T1's with the 35mm f1.4 lens (she uses that wee lens so much that I had to get her one of her own!) and had an X-E1 with 18mm f2 alongside. Here's one of my favourites (I'll also add a link to a blog post with more samples at the bottom) As you'll see on the blog, she did her own thing throughout the day, with no input from dad except a wee help while she edited them in Lightroom.

Wow, read the blog and be careful Dad, she's going to take over your business! :)

But seriously, she has a natural talent! She clearly has a great eye for photography!

Thanks Tom, yeah I'll encourage her as much as I can without getting pushy about it. The passion is there, so I just let her learn at her own pace. When she asks questions I'll answer and when she wants a day of shooting we do it :)
