I'm looking to start second shooting weddings in NYC starting in June since I just moved here and I was wondering what's the best way to get gigs? In second shot and worked as an assiant in Altanta, do websites such as secondshooters.com or Secondinseconds.com that charge a fee worth it? What other ways could I break into the business? I'll attach some of my work just incase anyone is interested

In Australia we use a bunch of local facebook groups to offer and request second shooting jobs.
I think the more places you can post your work, the better. The sites you mentioned are good if you're fine paying the fee. Another new site is findsecondshooters.com (USA only) but is free as of this posting.
Other ways to break into the business would be to search local second shooter wedding photography groups in facebook. See facebook.com/groups/nysecondshooters/ Also try meetup groups in your area at meetup.com. Wishing you the best.
