setting up e-commerce solutions

Hello All,

Quick question for you:

I am starting to get wedding jobs, and I need to start thinking about ways to set up private galleries and ways to sell prints to family/friends. What do people use? My site is a WP site, and I can set up password protected galleries and then set up e-commerce back ends. But for where I am now, it seems like I just might want to work with a SmugMug or PhotoShelter service.

Anyone have ideas/suggestions/widsom to share?

Please help a newbie out.

Thanks,
Gabe

Without question PicturesPro is something that you should look at. https://www.picturespro.com/ty/uBkwU/

I have used them for years and I don't even scratch the surface of what they offer. There are a ton of options and I have used most of them. Now I just use WP and PicturesPro (Sytist). They have bookings, gift cards, every type of gallery you can think of, green screens, album proofing, self hosted (hosted on same a WP). It's pretty awesome in what it offers. My site is https://billandjess.com if you can to look. We are just starting a re-branding so still a work in progress.

how did you do the back end? are you running Divi on the main site and then using Picturespro for the gallery?

I am using DIVI but I use picturespro for my online galleries. You can do sales with Sytist or you can sell downloads as well. Sytist does a lot more than I use it for. I only use it to offer images to clients, but you could design your entire website (I personally think WP is better for SEO) with the product. BTW, it also includes an in-person-sells module.

Are you using DIVI as your wordpress theme? It looks like the same that I use.

yes. I am. any suggestions?

DIVI is an awesome theme for wordpress. However, ElegantThemes does not do a great job with image galleries. In fact, they are very lacking. Sliders, full page images are fine, but standard galleries are basic square images. The best was is to use a plug-in then use the text module to create the gallery. I use Photoswipe Masonry for a masonry style gallery, not perfect but free and works

Bill, how did you set up the private galleries? AND, do you have them set up so that families/friends of your clients can purchase directly from you?

Thanks,
gabe

Orr. I didn't see the first reply. THANKS!!
