Del Robertson's picture

Anyone want to have a go at how this image was created?

I know it is a long exposure with rear fill flash, however the trails start behind the bride. Do you think this is a composite image? Anyone have any ideas? The reason I ask is that a client is wanting this particular look. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is not a flattering photo by any means though. I hope your version turns out much better

I don't imagine this is a composite. I think it's just as you said: a long exposure lit by a rear flash (and possibly another one much softer in front). The duration of the flash acts as a fast shutter speed in a way freezing the non light emitting objects. Does that answer your question?

Richard, ...yes, I agree. I'm going to try and go for a more visually pleasing photograph. This isn't really my thing to be honest! Chris, yes it does, thank you!

Awesome glad I could help

1. If your client dictates what pictures they want but come to you instead of the author of that image you are in trouble... embrace yourself ;)
2. It was done like Chris said except there is no light from front. It is done by recovering shadows, that is why her skin looks so weird. In my opinion this picture sucks...

sorry, I don't like either. Is there a way to explain your future bride that you gonna create something better then this one?
