Athens photos
A few shots from the winter of 2025. The last one was inside of the Acropolis Museum. (Unfortunately, I could get everyone to walk exactly where I wanted them to. hahaha)
New version of Bluristic available
For iPhone users - a new version of Bluristic has dropped (v1.8) which offers new features and significant improvements in stability & useability.
Focus Stacking ~ New to Me
I am interested in learning Macro/Closeup photography and understanding that Focus Bracketing is a good part of the process, I thought I would give focus stacking a try.
Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5. NOTE: With this lens the minimum focusing distance is 18" at which point you have 1/4" depth of field.

I'm not generally a fan of heavily crushed blacks, but this is *very* nice work. The pictures are very strong and don't rely on the style. And the new tonality has been applied very tastefully - it makes those clouds look romantic and fascinating. There are probably fangirls who would run a kickstarter to see you shoot Bennedict Cumberbatch and Dr Watson this way...
(Not that I want to stereotype you - ok, I am about to - but do you shoot a Fuji? It normally goes with this processing style. Along with the fixie, the waxed moustache and collection of artisan cheeses...)
Thank you, David! Really appreciate the comments! Haha no I don't shoot Fuji, I shoot Canon and I like Cheddar :P The use of OCF on the day was essential to get the clouds exposed correctly as it was SO bright
Whats a fixie?!
It's a device for moving a Fuji X100 between locations. In fact, that's why the X100T was succeeded by the X100F - the F stands for fixie. It's a type of bicycle that's had its brakes and most of its gears removed to make it more authentic. Or as they say in the trade, it has been "curated."
You'd think they'd be even more more popular with Leica owners, but most of them are too old to ride a bike.
(Btw, I can say this because I own a Fuji and a Leica branded lens...)
