My first wedding....

Hello,

beginning this year good friends of mine asked me to shoot their wedding this April....

To introduce my self....I'm just an 28 year old hobby photographer from Germany....

After the first proud feeling I start regret and I got scared :D
I have never done something else which is as important than a wedding of two people....
Hell it's their big day.... (By the way how are your feelings before your first wedding)

I think the day before I was as nervous as the bride :D

So happily we had awesome weather conditions, great locations and with my camera in my hand I was unstoppable :D....
So I packed my gear, which I believed it could be necessary for the day :D
(Hell I packed a lot and used so less) Offcurse I thought I was prepared for end of the world ;).

I didn't excepted so much stress, for me as friend who was responsible for the pictures....

Guys I did my best and here are my best results, so be kind and tell me your thoughts about my pictures...
Excuse my English, but it is an never ending story of improvement...

these are excellent. I would definitely have believed you were a seasoned photographer based upon the quality, lighting, and moments captured. Congrats! These are a home run.

Thanks :)
Right moment, right time.... I shoot only by feeling...:)
But I'm realy proud about your comment!
Thanks a lot!

Hi Jan, firstly welcome to the exciting world of wedding photography, if you're doing it right it DOESN'T get any less scary :-)
I agree with Neil, you don't shoot as though you're just starting out, you've got some nice compositions and good use of light and depth of field. I've know guys that have shot weddings for years and would be happy to have some of these shots in their portfolios.
The one thing that I could suggest is to work on your posing. The ones here are lovely and work well but they are standard, safe poses and don't show any personal style or creativity which will help you stand out from the crowd and attract the kind of weddings you want to shoot, but this will come with time and as you shoot more weddings you will be able to get the safer ones done faster to give yourself some time to play with different ideas.
Great start though :-D

Hi,
I really enjoyed your answer. I organized an after Shooting end of Agust with the bride and groom because she like to damages her bridal gown. It sounds like fun for me :)
My biggest issue is I have a lot of creative stuff in my mind but the standards are hard for me :D
I really have to learn more basics posings, well do you have an Idea for an good posing guide ?
Thanks again :)

Love the images! Congrats!

So guys, I did my second short wedding only 2 hours of shooting ;)
Unfortunately worst weather conditions, but I've learned I have to do more post work and I truly have to improve my workflow and Technics :D

Here my latest results

But not happy depending on the crappy timing of hard rain we couldn't do more...:(

Some nice shots here. Sometimes those vehicle shots can be a pain, sorry if I'm preaching to the choir, but definitely do some exposure bracketing. The original shot attached looked completely unusable as it was sunny outside and the bride and groom were shadowed in the car (obviously I wanted the details of the exterior of the car too) so I duplicated the RAW file, ramped one up for the couple and the same for the car exterior, then masked the required layer elements in photoshop.

Now though, I just bracket shots like this and it's much easier, used to bracket as a kid when I shot film but digital can make you lazy :)
Definitely stick with it my man.

Thanks a lot and great Tip!
I used bracketing only for landscapes so in future i'll try it out ;)
