On misty winter mornings, hundreds of boats gather at Balichra Char Market on the Surma River in Kanaighat Upazila. Known as a seasonal floating market, it draws nearly 100,000 farmers from nearby unions who bring their freshly harvested vegetables. The market runs from mid-Agrahayan to Chaitra in the Bengali calendar.
