Patience

I visited Brooks Camp in Alaska's Katmai National Park, where brown bears gather to feed on sockeye salmon in the Brooks River. I captured this long exposure image of a brown bear nicknamed "Gully" as he waited for salmon, showcasing his stillness and patience. Gully, the only bear known to chase and eat seagulls at Brooks, became my favorite bear on the trip for his mannerisms, such as expressing disappointment when missing a catch and the look of glee after a successful catch. His story is that of patience and perseverance - he had his eyes on the prize and never gave up. I wanted to showcase that through this long exposure.
