Earthworm emerging from its burrow. This photo is a setup, a complete nature fake. A result of a publisher's request for this type of image. I dug up a piece of sod, layed it on its side, and constructed a fake worm burrow. I collected a worm, anestesized it and placed in in the burrow. Flash placed above and to the top and side of the setup. After the worm recovered, I fed it to one of my salamanders.
